An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bucuresti. Third ranked Steaua CSM faced 4th ranked Oradea. Host Steaua CSM (16-10) defeated guests from Oradea (14-12) 85-70. Oradea was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Steaua CSM shot the lights out from three nailing 12 long-distance shots on high 52.2 percentage. Lithuanian guard Marius Runkauskas (189-86, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Levente Szijarto (192-83, agency: Court Side) contributed with 17 points (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. American forward Sean Barnette (197-86, college: Wingate) replied with 13 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Martin Zeno (196-85, college: Texas Tech) added 18 points in the effort for Oradea. Four Oradea players scored in double figures. Steaua CSM moved-up to second place, which they share with CSU Sibiu. Defending champion Oradea keeps the fourth position with 12 games lost. Steaua CSM will play against BC Timisoara (#5) on the road in the next round. Oradea will play against Pitesti and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
