Regular Season Round 27: Westerstede - Cuxhaven 74-82

Very predictable result when first ranked RW Cuxhaven (15-3) defeated on the road 8th ranked Westerstede (6-13) 82-74 on Saturday. It was a great evening for Croatian point guard Luka Petkovic (190-88) who led his team to a victory scoring 16 points and 7 assists. Serbian-Croatian Sinisa Cvetanovic (205-94) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was power forward Marcel Kessen (207-97) with 15 points and 9 rebounds and American forward Nigel Pruitt (201-94, college: Kennesaw St.) scored 16 points and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Westerstede's coach Milos Stankovic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for RW Cuxhaven. They maintain first place in North with 15-3 record. Newly promoted Westerstede dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. RW Cuxhaven will face league's second-placed Stade at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Westerstede will play against ALBA Berlin II (#6) and hope to win that game.
