Second Stage Round 11: Ginasio - Angra 90-87

A very interesting game took place in Figueira da Foz. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 9th ranked Angrabasket (8-3) to twelfth ranked Ginasio (7-4) 90-87 on Saturday evening. Ginasio forced 29 Angrabasket turnovers. Strangely Angrabasket outrebounded Ginasio 42-24 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Nuno Pereira (190-92) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Pedro Marques (173-95) accounted for 21 points and 4 steals for the winning side. Four Ginasio players scored in double figures. Cape Verdean swingman Flavio Gomes (194-88) came up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 15 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and Russian forward Alexander Kravtsov (194-87) added 20 points and 16 rebounds respectively for Angrabasket in the defeat. Ginasio have a solid series of four victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place in Places 9-16, which they share with Belenenses CF. Angrabasket at the other side keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Ginasio's next round opponent will be Fisica (#12) in Torres Vedras.
