Second Stage Round 5: FC Porto - Galitos-Barreiro 82-58

LPB top team - FC Porto Ferpinta (22-5) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Galitos-Barreiro (15-12) 82-58. FC Porto Ferpinta dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Galitos-Barreiro's 24. They outrebounded Galitos-Barreiro 36-22 including 24 on the defensive glass. FC Porto Ferpinta looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Bradley Tinsley (191-89, college: Vanderbilt) who scored 22 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import center Nick Washburn (208-91, college: Hillsdale, agency: Duran International) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 14 rebounds. Washburn is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four FC Porto Ferpinta players scored in double figures. FC Porto Ferpinta's coach Moncho Lopez felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Point guard Jacques Conceicao (187-89) produced 13 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Stephen Grosey (201, college: Concordia Irvine) added 10 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. Defending champion maintains first place in Places 1-6 with 22-5 record. Loser Galitos-Barreiro keeps the fifth position with 12 games lost. FC Porto Ferpinta will meet at home Oliveirense (#4) in the next round. Galitos-Barreiro will play against the league's second-placed Benfica and hope to secure a win.
