Regular Season Round 24: Galatasaray - Fenerbahce 89-73

Round 24 in KBSL means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Istanbul where host Galatasaray (17-6) beat league's leader Fenerbahce (18-5) 89-73 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fenerbahce. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was guard Yvonne Anderson (170-90, college: Texas, agency: Two Points) who scored 24 points, 8 assists and 7 steals. Point guard Moriah Jefferson (170-94, college: Connecticut) chipped in 20 points, 8 assists and 4 steals. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. Galatasaray's coach Marina Maljkovic used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was center Jantel Lavender (191-88, college: Ohio St.) who recorded 22 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Candace Parker (193-86, college: Tennessee) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Galatasaray maintains fourth position with 17-6 record. Defending champion Fenerbahce dropped to the second place with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Yakin Dogu BGD. Fenerbahce will play next round against Hatay trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Galatasaray will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Hatay on the road.
