Regular Season Round 30: Klosterneuburg - Oberwart 50-77

A Bundesliga top team - Redwell Gunners Oberwart (23-4) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed ninth ranked Dukes (4-23) in Klosterneuburg 77-50. Dukes were ahead by 4 points at the halftime before a 40-9 second half run of Redwell Gunners Oberwart. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Dukes to just 4 points in fourth quarter and to 9 points in second half. Redwell Gunners Oberwart forced 29 Dukes turnovers. American guard Andell Cumberbatch (196-93, college: St.Bonaventure, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 22 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Derek Jackson (185-91, college: Kent St., agency: Mansfield and Associates) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. Dukes' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Redwell Gunners Oberwart have an impressive six-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 23-4 record. Dukes lost fifteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Redwell Gunners Oberwart will play against UBSC Graz (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Dukes will play against Raiffeisen Wels and hope to get back on the winning track.
