Regular Season Round 24: Istanbul BBSK - Darussafaka 93-94

Tenth-ranked Istanbul BBSK (9-15) gave a tough game to fifth ranked Darussafaka (17-7) on Sunday. The visitors managed to secure only one-point victory 94-93. However their fans expected much easier game. Darussafaka looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) who scored 29 points and 6 assists. The other American import forward Will Clyburn (201-90, college: Iowa St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Darussafaka's coach David Blatt used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) who recorded 24 points and 5 assists and Slovenian swingman Jaka Klobucar (198-87) added 18 points and 6 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Darussafaka have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Banvit BK. Loser Istanbul BBSK keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Yesilgiresun. Darussafaka will meet at home Yesilgiresun Bld (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Istanbul BBSK will play against Galatasaray in Istanbul and hope to secure a win.
