Regular Season Round 27: Stade - Weser Bsk/BTS 73-39

Date: April 2, 2017
Very expected game when 10th ranked Weser Bsk/BTS (5-15) was crushed on the road by second ranked Stade (15-4) 73-39 on Sunday. Stade held Weser Bsk/BTS to an opponent 23.2 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.6 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Weser Bsk/BTS 47-28 including a 38-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Mason Biddle (185-93, college: Western St.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 assists. Tom Lipke (193-86, agency: Court Side) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. Stade's coach Nemo Weber felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was swingman Andreas Bruns (197) with 19 points and 7 rebounds and forward Lukas Koehler (196) scored 8 points. The victory was the third consecutive win for Stade. They maintain second place in North with 15-4 record having thirteen points less than leader Schwelm. Newly promoted Weser Bsk/BTS keeps the tenth position with 15 games lost. Stade will face league's leader RW Cuxhaven on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Weser Bsk/BTS will play against Sixers (#4) and hope to win that game.
