The game in Timisoara was also worth to mention about. Second ranked Steaua CSM (17-10) played at the court of 5th ranked BC Timisoara (12-15). Steaua CSM managed to secure a 4-point victory 84-80. It looked good early as BC Timisoara took a 12-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Steaua CSM took control winning two of next three quarters and eventually winning the game that evening by 4 points. 27 personal fouls committed by BC Timisoara helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Lithuanian guard Marius Runkauskas (189-86, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 34 points (!!!). American power forward Randal Falker (201-85, college: S.Illinois) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Four Steaua CSM players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Cuban-American center Adrian Diaz (213-93, college: FIU) who recorded 26 points and 9 rebounds and Serbian guard Mladen Jeremic (198-88, agency: 011 Sports) added 26 points and 5 rebounds respectively. Steaua CSM maintains second place in Nationala with 17-10 record having just ten point less than leader Targu Mures. BC Timisoara at the other side keeps the fifth position with 15 games lost. Steaua CSM's next round opponent will be league's leader UBT Cluj Napoca on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week. BC Timisoara will play against Pitesti (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
