Academia can celebrate finally their first win this season after nine consecutive losses. The victory is especially important as they defeated much higher ranked Fisica (6-5) 76-72. Academia dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Fisica's 26. They outrebounded Fisica 40-26 including a 15-1 advantage in offensive rebounds. Power forward Bonifacio Almeida (203-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds. Forward Ba Cassama (195-85) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Miguel Salvador (187-81) answered with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Ricardo Robalo (165-84) added 16 points and 4 assists in the effort for Fisica. Academia maintains sixteenth place in Places 9-16 with 1-9 record. Newly promoted Fisica dropped to the twelfth position with five games lost. Academia will play against higher ranked Sangalhos (#13) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Fisica will play against Ginasio and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
