Second Stage Round 6: Lusitania - Ovarense 79-82

Ninth-ranked Lusitania (7-20) made lots of trouble for eighth ranked Ovarense (15-13) in Angra. The visitors from Ovarense managed to secure only three-point victory 82-79. However their fans expected easier game. American guard Kyle Anderson (190-93, college: Delaware) notched a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import point guard Nick Novak (182-90, college: Pitt-Johnstown) supported him with 18 points. Even 24 points and 5 rebounds by American center Chris Matagrano (206-90, college: New Hampshire) did not help to save the game for Lusitania. Naturalized Angolan forward Antonio Monteiro (204-89) added 17 points and 12 rebounds. Four Lusitania players scored in double figures. Ovarense maintains eighth position in Places 7-12 with 15-13 record. Lusitania at the other side dropped to the tenth place with 20 games lost. Ovarense's next round opponent will be Maia Basket (#11) on the road. Lusitania will play against CAB Madeira in Funchal and hope to win that game.
