Quarter-Finals Round 1: UNIQA Sopron - ZTE NKK 77-47

UNIQA Sopron outgunned ZTE NKK in the opener. The game was mostly controlled by UNIQA Sopron. ZTE NKK managed to win second period 16-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ZTE NKK to just 5 points in first and fourth quarters. UNIQA Sopron dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to ZTE NKK's 24. They outrebounded ZTE NKK 50-30 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. UNIQA Sopron looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Shenise Johnson (181-90, college: Miami, FL) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and Australian center Cayla George (192-89) chipped in 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American guard Kirby Burkholder (183-92, college: JMU, agency: Interperformances) responded with 16 points and the other American import forward Whitney Bays (188-92, college: Purdue) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
