Regular Season Round 21: Grosuplje - Branik 93-49

Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Branik (3-18) was rolled over on the road by third ranked Grosuplje (13-8) 93-49 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 16-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-49. Grosuplje forced 20 Branik turnovers. The best player for the winners was guard Nini Gabrijel (178-98) who scored 22 points and 7 assists. Tilen Hojc (190-96) chipped in 20 points. Four Grosuplje players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Salem Sepic (-95) who recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds and swingman Marko Cej (192-88) added 12 points respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Grosuplje. They maintain third place with 13-8 record having eight points less than leader Ilirija, which they share with Triglav. Branik lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 18 games lost. Grosuplje will meet Triglav (#4) in the next round. Branik will play against Crnomelj (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
