Regular Season Round 30: Lietuvos rytas - Neptunas 82-62

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Vilnius. Second ranked Lietuvos rytas faced 4th ranked Neptunas. Host Lietuvos rytas (22-8) smashed guests from Klaipeda (17-13) 82-62. The game was mostly controlled by Lietuvos rytas. Neptunas managed to win second period 29-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was international Rokas Giedraitis (198-92) who scored 19 points. International power forward Arturas Gudaitis (211-93) chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Chris Lofton (188-86, college: Tennessee) who recorded 11 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) added 14 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lietuvos rytas have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 22-8 record having five points less than leader Zalgiris. Neptunas at the other side keeps the fourth place with 13 games lost. Lietuvos rytas are looking forward to face Dzukija (#8) in Alytus in the next round where they are favorite. Neptunas will play at home against Nevezis (#9) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
