Regular Season Round 31: Vienna - Gmunden 89-69

The game between second ranked Gmunden Swans (20-9) and fourth ranked Vienna (16-13) was the most important one in the last round on Sunday night. Gmunden Swans were crushed by Vienna in Wien 89-69. The game was mostly controlled by Vienna. Gmunden Swans managed to win third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for American point guard Anthony Clemmons (186-94, college: Iowa) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 8 assists. The former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) helped adding 19 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Vienna players scored in double figures. At the losing side international forward Enis Murati (194-88, agency: Octagon Europe) responded with 24 points and 4 assists and forward Toni Blazan (195-92, agency: Mansfield and Associates) scored 10 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Vienna have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 16-13 record. Gmunden Swans at the other side keep the second position with nine games lost. Vienna are looking forward to face higher ranked Kapfenberg Bulls (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Gmunden Swans will have a break next round.
