Regular Season Round 30: Nevezis - Zalgiris 54-82

Leader Zalgiris delivered the twenty seventh victory. This time they crushed 9th ranked Nevezis (6-24) 82-54 in Kedainiai. The game was mostly controlled by Zalgiris. Nevezis was better in second period 19-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zalgiris dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Nevezis' 32. They outrebounded Nevezis 47-28 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for international point guard Lukas Lekavicius (180-94) who led his team to a victory with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. International guard Edgaras Ulanovas (197-92) contributed with 14 points for the winners. American guard Jermaine Love-Roberts (188-89, college: Ill.-Springfield) replied with 9 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Daiquan Walker (188-94, college: Cent.Florida) added 13 points in the effort for Nevezis. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zalgiris (27-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position. Nevezis lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the ninth place with 24 games lost. Zalgiris will play against Vytautas (#5) in Prienai in the next round. Nevezis will play on the road against Neptunas (#4) in Klaipeda and hopes to get back on the winning track.
