Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Sampaense (4-24) lost to ninth ranked Electrico FC (8-19) in Coimbra 93-97. Sampaense was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for power forward Joao Torrie (200-91, agency: Interperformances) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Joao Lanzinha (191-89) helped adding 19 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. At the losing side American point guard Andrew Guillory (190-92, college: Arkansas Tech) responded with 29 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import guard Devin Martin (193, college: Md-E Shore) scored 27 points and 9 rebounds. Five Electrico FC and four Sampaense players scored in double figures. Electrico FC have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain ninth place in Places 7-12 with 8-19 record. Sampaense lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 24 lost games. Electrico FC will play against Lusitania (#10) in Angra in the next round. Sampaense will play on the road against Maia Basket and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
