Sixteenth-ranked Academia (1-10) was very close to win a game against thirteenth ranked Sangalhos (6-5). Sangalhos managed to secure only two-point victory 68-66. However their fans expected easier game. Strangely Academia outrebounded Sangalhos 43-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Pedro Seabra (-94) who scored 15 points and 9 assists. Swingman Emanuel Silva (188-79) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. Four Sangalhos players scored in double figures. Sangalhos' coach Francisco Gradeco allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Cape Verdean forward Denis Neves (197-78) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Angolan forward Benedito Suca (196-84) added 22 points and 7 rebounds respectively. Sangalhos maintains thirteenth position in Places 9-16 with 6-5 record. Academia at the other side stay at the bottom place with ten games lost. Sangalhos' next round opponent will be higher ranked Fisica (#10) in Torres Vedras and it may be quite challenging game. Academia will play against Sanjoanense (#14) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
