Second Stage Round 12: Fisica - Ginasio 93-92

A very close game took place in Torres Vedras between Fisica and Ginasio. Twelfth ranked Fisica (7-5) got a very close home victory over 11th ranked Ginasio (7-5). Fisica managed to escape with a 1-point win 93-92 in the fight for the tenth place. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Ginasio. Fisica made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. The winners were led by forward Frederico Tavares (194-88) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Ricardo Robalo (165-84) supported him with 22 points and 5 assists. Fisica's coach Romero Junior used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 33 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds by the former international center Marco Goncalves (206-84) did not help to save the game for Ginasio. Bernardo Neves (192-96) added 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Fisica moved-up to tenth place in Places 9-16, which they share with Ginasio and Belenenses CF. Fisica will meet at home Sangalhos (#13) in the next round. Ginasio will play against Belenenses CF and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
