Regular Season Round 37: Elazig - Yalova Vip 69-71

A very interesting game took place in Elazig. It ended with only two-point home defeat of higher ranked Elazig (21-16) to sixteenth ranked Yalova Vip (13-24) 71-69 on Saturday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Yalova Vip forced 20 Elazig turnovers. Strangely Elazig outrebounded Yalova Vip 45-32 including 17 on the offensive glass. Serbian power forward Bojana Vulic (191-84, agency: Promotex) fired a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Forward Banu Yillar (172-78) chipped in 18 points and 6 rebounds. Four Yalova Vip players scored in double figures. American power forward Sharon Houston (191-88, college: IU Northwest, agency: Gamble Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 22 points, 25 rebounds and 5 assists and Sehernaz Cidal (183-95) added 13 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Yalova Vip maintains sixteenth place with 13-24 record. Elazig at the other side keeps the eighth position with 16 games lost. Yalova Vip's next round opponent will be higher ranked Cankaya (#4) in Ankara and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
