The game in Barreiro was also quite interesting. One of their biggest challengers Oliveirense (20-10) played at the court of fifth ranked Galitos-Barreiro (17-13). Galitos-Barreiro managed to secure a 8-point victory 72-64 on Saturday. Galitos-Barreiro outrebounded Oliveirense 35-24 including 26 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Canadian-Jamaican point guard Jarred Ogungbemi-Jackson (178-91) who scored 20 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Point guard Jacques Conceicao (187-89) chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds. American power forward Justin Reynolds (206-88, college: Texas A&M-CC) produced 15 points and 7 rebounds and his fellow American import forward James Ellisor (195-90, college: Bemidji St.) added 12 points respectively for the guests. Four Oliveirense players scored in double figures. Oliveirense's coach Ricardo Rodrigues rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Galitos-Barreiro maintains fifth position in Places 1-6 with 17-13 record. Loser Oliveirense keeps the fourth place with ten games lost. Galitos-Barreiro will meet Illiabum (#6) in the next round. Oliveirense will play against the league's second-placed Benfica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
