Rather predictable result when fourth ranked BBC Bayreuth (21-9) defeated at home 8th ranked Giessen 46ers (15-15) 89-79 on Saturday. Worth to mention a great performance of Egyptian forward Assem Marei (206-92, college: Minn.St.-Mankato) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds and American Nate Linhart (201-86, college: Akron) who added 20 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Linhart is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five BBC Bayreuth players scored in double figures. American forward Justin Sears (203-94, college: Yale) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds and his fellow American import point guard Cameron Wells (186-88, college: Citadel) scored 15 points and 8 rebounds.
