We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Buyukcekmece where twelfth ranked Demir IBB (9-18) defeated 11th ranked Yesilgiresun Bld (9-18) 83-77. Strangely Yesilgiresun Bld outrebounded Demir IBB 43-30 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Yesilgiresun Bld was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). American point guard Kenneth Hayes (188-87, college: Miami, OH, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 19 points and 5 assists for the winning side. American Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) came up with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and the other American import Anthony Gill (203-92, college: Virginia) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Yesilgiresun Bld in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Demir IBB moved-up to eleventh place, which they share with Yesilgiresun. Yesilgiresun Bld lost their sixth game in a row. Demir IBB will play against higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#7) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yesilgiresun Bld will play against Balikesir (#15) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
