There was no surprise when 14th ranked Pertevniyal (11-23) was outleveled by tenth ranked Bandirma Kir. (16-18) in Istanbul 90-65 on Saturday. Bandirma Kir. dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Pertevniyal's 36. They outrebounded Pertevniyal 43-26 including 16 on the offensive glass. Bandirma Kir. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Ercan Osmani notched 20 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and swingman Erkin Senel (191-99) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. Bandirma Kir.'s coach Menderes Gumusdal felt very confident that he used 10 players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Even 13 points by power forward Adem Oren (207-79) did not help to save the game for Pertevniyal. Forward Gurur Baybora (195-90) added 16 points for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Bandirma Kir. maintains tenth position with 16-18 record. Loser Pertevniyal dropped to the thirteenth place with 23 games lost. They share the position with Gelisim and Duzce Bld..
