Second Stage Round 13: Barreirense - Dragon Force 71-63

An interesting game for Barreirense (10-2) which hosted in Barreiro their biggest opponent Dragon Force (8-4). First ranked Barreirense managed to get a 8-point victory 71-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dragon Force. Barreirense dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Dragon Force's 22. They outrebounded Dragon Force 37-26 including 19 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kenny Martin (208-93, college: Ark.-Fort Smith) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Swingman Tiago Raimundo (194-90) contributed with 13 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Four Barreirense players scored in double figures. Cape Verdean center Kevin-Clay Gomes (209-95) answered with 8 points and 10 rebounds and center Pedro Oliveira (204-0) added 14 points and 4 assists in the effort for Dragon Force. Dragon Force's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Barreirense maintains first place in Places 1-8 with 10-2 record. Dragon Force at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. Barreirense are looking forward to face Estoril Basket (#4) on the road in the next round. Dragon Force will play against Academico FC and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
