Second Stage Round 13: Ternopil-TNEU - Dnipro-2 93-67
Date: April 23, 2017
We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when tenth ranked Ternopil-TNEU (14-4) crushed at home 9th ranked Dnipro-2 (16-3) 93-67 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Ternopil-TNEU. Dnipro-2 was better in fourth quarter 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Ternopil-TNEU looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Dnipro-2's players. It was a very good performance for guard Andrij Shapovalov (187-93) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 4 assists. Forward Valentin Spivak (195-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Olexandr Tarasenko (199-96) answered with 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Olexandr Kovalskiy (202-98) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Dnipro-2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ternopil-TNEU maintains tenth place with 14-4 record. Newly promoted Dnipro-2 keeps the ninth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
