An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Porto. First ranked FC Porto Ferpinta faced 3rd placed Vitoria SC. Host FC Porto Ferpinta (25-6) defeated guests from Guimaraes (21-10) 101-96. FC Porto Ferpinta made 36-of-43 charity shots (83.7 percent) during the game, while Vitoria SC only scored nineteen points from the stripe. They outrebounded Vitoria SC 50-35 including a 42-28 advantage in defensive rebounds. FC Porto Ferpinta players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Vitoria SC was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Serbian power forward Sasa Borovnjak (206-89, college: Penn St., agency: 011 Sports) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds (went 15 for 15 at the free throw line !!!). American guard Bradley Tinsley (191-89, college: Vanderbilt) contributed with 23 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. The former international point guard Pedro Pinto (188-88) answered with 14 points and 8 rebounds and Serbian guard Miljan Rakic (195-86, agency: 011 Sports) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Vitoria SC. Four FC Porto Ferpinta and five Vitoria SC players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains first place in Places 1-6 with 25-6 record. Vitoria SC lost third consecutive game. They keep the third position with ten games lost. They share it with Oliveirense. FC Porto Ferpinta will play against Galitos-Barreiro (#5) on the road in the next round. Vitoria SC will play against Oliveirense and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
