Regular Season Round 28: Pinar Karsiyaka - Demir IBB 84-78
Date: April 29, 2017
Not a big story in a game when 12th ranked Demir IBB (9-19) was defeated on the road by seventh ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (15-13) 84-78 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Pinar Karsiyaka looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American power forward Josh Owens (206-88, college: Stanford) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds (perfect from the field making all ten shots !!!) and the other American import forward DaJuan Summers (203-88, college: Georgetown) who added 19 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Four Pinar Karsiyaka players scored in double figures. At the losing side American-Italian forward Angelo Caloiaro (205-89, college: USF, agency: Pensack Sports) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American power forward Eric Buckner (208-90, college: Georgia St.) scored 8 points and 14 rebounds. Demir IBB's coach Ozhan Civgin let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Pinar Karsiyaka maintains seventh position with 15-13 record. Loser Demir IBB keeps the twelfth place with 19 games lost. Pinar Karsiyaka will meet Balikesir (#15) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
