Second Stage Round 15: Krivbas-2 - Politekhn.Lvov 83-94

The most interesting game of round 15 was a home defeat of 4th placed Krivbas-2 (16-12) to second ranked Politekhn.Lvov (17-11) 94-83. The game was mostly controlled by Politekhn.Lvov. Krivbas-2 managed to win second period 18-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Politekhn.Lvov dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Krivbas-2's 34 and made 19-of-24 free shots (79.2 percent) during the game. Politekhn.Lvov looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for point guard Andriy Kobets (192-93, agency: AproK Sports Group) who led his team to a victory scoring 26 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Dmytro Khodov (203-87) helped adding 21 points and 10 rebounds. Four Politekhn.Lvov players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was point guard Sergey Startsev (190-97) with 32 points and 4 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and guard Evgeni Sergeychik (185-94) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Politekhn.Lvov maintains second place with 17-11 record having five points less than leader Dnipro-2, which they share with Khimik-2. Krivbas-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 12 games lost.
