Regular Season Round 29: Tofas - Yesilgiresun 92-87

Rather expected game when 11th ranked Yesilgiresun Bld (10-19) lost to ninth ranked Tofas (14-15) in Bursa 87-92. Tofas players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. 28 personal fouls committed by Yesilgiresun Bld helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Serbian point guard Vasilije Micic (196-94, agency: BeoBasket) who scored 18 points, 9 assists and 4 steals. Dominican-American swingman Sammy Mejia (198-83, college: De Paul) chipped in 11 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Tofas players scored in double figures. American Ricky Ledo (201-92, college: Providence) produced 34 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds and the other American import Anthony Gill (203-92, college: Virginia) added 14 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Tofas. Newly promoted Tofas maintains ninth place with 14-15 record. Yesilgiresun Bld at the other side keeps the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Tofas' next round opponent will be higher ranked Pinar Karsiyaka (#8) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Yesilgiresun Bld will play against Banvit and hope to win that game.
