No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Banvit (20-9) beat 10th ranked Istanbul BBSK (11-18) in Balikesir 79-64. 25 personal fouls committed by Istanbul BBSK helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was international guard Furkan Korkmaz (198-97) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Jeremy Chappell (191-87, college: Robert Morris) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. American guard Sean Armand (196-91, college: Iona) produced 11 points and 6 assists and Serbian center Djordje Gagic (210-90, agency: BeoBasket) added 13 points respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the third consecutive win for Banvit. They maintain fifth place with 20-9 record. Istanbul BBSK at the other side keeps the tenth position with 18 games lost. Banvit's next round opponent will be Yesilgiresun Bld (#11) in Giresun which should be theoretically an easy game. Istanbul BBSK will play at home against Gaziantep and hope to win that game.
