Second Stage Round 7: Crvena Zvezda - Dynamic BG 87-68

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Beograd: Crvena Zvezda (#1) and Dynamic BG (#4). Crvena Zvezda (7-0) crushed visiting Dynamic BG (3-4) by 19 points 87-68. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamic BG. The game was mostly controlled by Crvena Zvezda. Dynamic BG managed to win fourth quarter 31-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Crvena Zvezda made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Dynamic BG turnovers. It was a great evening for naturalized American Charles Jenkins (191-89, college: Hofstra) who led his team to a victory scoring 18 points. American point guard Nate Wolters (193-91, college: S.Dakota St., agency: Pensack Sports) helped adding 16 points. At the losing side American guard Devin Brooks (186-92, college: Creighton) responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Marko Cakarevic (200-88) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Crvena Zvezda have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 7-0 record. Newly promoted Dynamic BG keeps the fourth position with four games lost. They share it with Mega Leks. Crvena Zvezda are looking forward to face Spartak (#7) in Subotica in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Dynamic BG will play on the road against Borac in Cacak and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
