Gotha II used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Herzogenaurach 92-67 on Saturday night. Gotha II dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Herzogenaurach's 30. They outrebounded Herzogenaurach 44-28 including a 32-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Estonian point guard Kristian Kullamae (194-99) scored 31 points and 6 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American forward Robert Franklin (195-81, college: N.Mexico Highlands) chipped in 17 points and 19 rebounds during the contest. Forward Patrick Horstmann (201-87, college: Kaiser) responded with 13 points and 4 assists and guard Stefan Dinkel (189-89, college: Dawson CC) scored 17 points. Herzogenaurach's coach Benni Aumeier gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Gotha II will face Topstar (#12) in Diedorf in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Herzogenaurach will play at home against Jena II (#11) and hope to win that game.
