Vechta-2 used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Rendsburg 78-77 on Saturday night. The hosts trailed by 7 points after three quarters before their 19-12 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 1-point victory in overtime. Dutch point guard Dexter Hope (185-93) scored 25 points to lead the charge for the winners and Tim Insinger (205-97) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. American guard Garrett Jefferson (190-91, college: Cal.Baptist) responded with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and British power forward Deji Adekunle (209-92, college: Kaiser) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 13 rebounds. Rendsburg's coach Bjarne Homfeldt tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Vechta-2 will face Stade (#12) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Rendsburg will play against Aschersleben (#1) and hope to win that game.
