And finally the game worth to mention about is Mustangs' easy victory against Blackbirds 65-52. The game was mostly controlled by Mustangs. Blackbirds was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Blackbirds to just 5 points in second quarter and to 14 points in first half. Mustangs dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Blackbirds' 22. Mustangs forced 20 Blackbirds turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mustangs made 13 blocks. Blackbirds were plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Czech guard Michal Semerad (190-89) who helped to win the game recording 16 points, 8 assists and 5 steals. Guard Ronald Sprung (180-87) contributed with 16 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Mustangs players scored in double figures. Mustangs' coach Martin Weissenboeck used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Matthias Klepeisz (190-89) answered with 11 points, 6 assists and 5 steals and guard Manuel Jandrasits (185-87) added 9 points, 6 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Blackbirds. Mustangs will face Raiders (#11) in Villach in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Blackbirds will play on the road against Basket 2K (#7) in Vienna and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
