Regular Season Round 1: Ratiopharm - ALBA 68-72

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of ratiopharm Ulm (0-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by ALBA Berlin (1-0) 72-68. They made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. Lithuanian forward Marius Grigonis (198-94) stepped up and scored 20 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) for the winners and American forward Luke Sikma (203-89, college: Portland) chipped in 9 points and 10 rebounds. ALBA Berlin is looking forward to face Walter Tigers (#18) in Tuebingen in the next round which should be an easy win for them. ratiopharm Ulm will play on the road against Telekom Baskets (#10) in Bonn and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
