Mitteldeutscher BC used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Gotha 82-69 on Saturday night. Mitteldeutscher BC dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Oettinger Rockets Gotha's 22. Serbian power forward Djordje Pantelic (204-84) stepped up and scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American point guard Lamont Jones (183-90, college: Iona, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 18 points. At the losing side Nigerian-American center Ekenechukwu Ibekwe (207-85, college: Maryland) responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and Belgian-Nigerian guard Retin Obasohan (185-93, college: Alabama) scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
