Regular Season Round 2: B.Loewen - Wolfenbuettel 68-63

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams when Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (0-1) lost on the road to B.Loewen (1-1) 68-63 on Tuesday. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-8. But Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel won second period 13-6. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. B.Loewen dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel's 28. American guard Deeshyra Thomas (168-95, college: Weber St.) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists and 7 steals. Center Viktoria Jaeger (184) contributed with 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. B.Loewen's coach Dhnesch Kubendrarajah used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Brianna Rollerson (183-94, college: Creighton) replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 22 rebounds and Leonie Rosemeyer (182-99) added 11 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. Four Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel players scored in double figures. B.Loewen will face TuSLi Berlin (#8) in Lichterfelde in the next round. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play at home against SG BBZ Opladen and hope to win that game.
