Regular Season Round 1: Vrbas Medela - Partizan 44-69

We should not miss anothera road victory of Partizan (1-0) who crushed Vrbas Medela (0-1) by 25 points 69-44. The game was mostly controlled by Partizan. Vrbas Medela was better in third quarter 17-11. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Vrbas Medela to just 3 points in second quarter and to 13 points in first half. Partizan dominated down low during the game scoring 42 of its points in the paint compared to Vrbas Medela's 22. They outrebounded Vrbas Medela 47-26 including a 32-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Olga Stepanovic (178-94) fired a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The former international power forward Ivanka Matic (193-79) chipped in a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Ivana Bijelovic produced 10 points and 8 rebounds and the former international guard Latinka Dusanic (178-90) added 12 points and 4 assists respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Partizan's next round opponent will be Bor (#8) at home and are hoping to win another game. Vrbas Medela will play against Spartak in Subotica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
