Regular Season Round 4: Salzkotten - Kamp-Lintfort 82-86

There was an upset when higher ranked Salzkotten (2-4) was defeated at home by fourteenth ranked Kamp-Lintfort (1-5) 86-82 on Saturday. Strangely Salzkotten outrebounded Kamp-Lintfort 41-27 including a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of center Gideon Schwich (192-87) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 8 rebounds and Michael Schmak (180-87) who added 14 points during the contest. Five Kamp-Lintfort players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Matthias Finke (190-87) responded with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Felix Wenningkamp (195-88) scored 24 points. Salzkotten's coach Stefan Schettke gave the chance to play for ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Kamp-Lintfort left bottom position moving up to tenth place in West, which they share with Hagen-Haspe and Bonn II. Loser Salzkotten keeps the eighth position with four games lost. Kamp-Lintfort will face Bonn II (#10) at home in the next round.
