Regular Season Round 4: Limburg - Eisbaeren 87-85

Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fourteenth ranked Limburg and bottom-ranked BG Karlsruhe had identical 0-2 record. This time Limburg used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Karlsruhe 87-85 on Saturday night. BG Karlsruhe cut a 17-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Limburg forced 22 BG Karlsruhe turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Brandon Shingles (190-87, college: Morehead St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Julius Zurna (188-86) who added 36 points (!!!) during the contest. At the losing side American guard Josh Mayberry (190-95, college: Dominican, IL) responded with 30 points and British Jordan Williams (202-95) scored 15 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists. Limburg (1-2) left bottom position moving up to tenth place in South-West, which they share with 3 other teams. It was BG Karlsruhe's third loss in a row. They still close the standings with three games lost. Limburg will face Stuttgart (#10) on the road in the next round. BG Karlsruhe will play against BV Villingen-Schwenningen (#3) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
