Regular Season Round 1: CAB Madeira - Electrico FC 109-79

The game between Top Four teams took place in Funchal. host CAB Madeira (1-0) smashed Electrico FC (0-1) 109-79. The game was mostly controlled by CAB Madeira. Electrico FC was better in third quarter 28-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CAB Madeira shot 62.9 percent from the field. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international swingman Fabio Lima (198-88) stepped up and scored 22 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and American guard Khalen Cumberlander (190, college: Cent.Conn.St.) chipped in 19 points (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four CAB Madeira players scored in double figures. At the losing side American center Brian Stone (203-94, college: Malone) responded with 16 points and 6 rebounds and Cape Verdean forward Kevin Coronel (197-91) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. CAB Madeira will face Barreirense (#8) in Barreiro in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Electrico FC will play at home against Lusitania and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
