There was a surprise result when thirteenth ranked Topstar (1-2) won against on the road higher ranked Herzogenaurach (1-2) 79-73 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 24-12 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Topstar outrebounded Herzogenaurach 40-26 including a 32-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of Slovenian guard Emanuel Richter (192-86) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds and Bernhard Benke (206-97) who added 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Ben Gahlert (202-0) responded with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and Austrian swingman Michael Kaiser (195-82) scored 13 points and 5 assists. Four Herzogenaurach players scored in double figures. Topstar left bottom position moving up to seventh place in South-East, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Herzogenaurach. Topstar will face Jena II (#13) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
