Regular Season Round 3: Wolfenbuettel - Opladen 56-71

Rather expected game when Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel (0-2) lost at home to SG BBZ Opladen (2-1) 71-56 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by SG BBZ Opladen. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel was better in fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a good game for Canadian guard Jill Stratton (180-91) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Center Mareike Nettersheim (186-83) contributed with 9 points and 16 rebounds for the winners. SG BBZ Opladen's coach Birgit Kunel used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Canadian guard Nakeshia Hyde (180-90, college: Texas Tech) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Theresa Simon (180-98) added 13 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel. SG BBZ Opladen will face TuSLi Berlin (#8) in Lichterfelde in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Wolfpack Wolfenbuettel will play on the road against Baskets Grunberg in Gruenberg and hopes to get finally their first victory.
