Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Kaiserslautern (1-2) was defeated at home by top-ranked Saarlouis/Dillingen (3-0) 95-86 on Sunday. Saarlouis/Dillingen forced 22 Kaiserslautern turnovers. Kaiserslautern was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Ricky Easterling (189-83, college: Bridgewater) who helped to win the game recording 27 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Swedish forward Samme Unger (196-94) who added 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Waldemar Nap (202-93) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!) and American power forward Aaron Ellis (205-87, college: Wichita St.) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Five Kaiserslautern players scored in double figures. Saarlouis/Dillingen have a solid three-game winning streak. They keep a position of South-West leader. Loser Kaiserslautern dropped to the tenth place with two games lost. Saarlouis/Dillingen will face Mainz (#13) at home in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Kaiserslautern will play against the league's second-placed Crailsheim II and hope to win that game.
