Regular Season Round 3: Rostock - Art.Dragons 80-81

A very close game took place in Rostock between Artland Dragons and Rostock. Artland Dragons (1-1) got a very close victory on the road over Rostock (1-2). Artland Dragons managed to escape with a 1-point win 81-80 in the game for the fifth place. Artland Dragons made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Pierre Bland (188-92, college: IPFW) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). Center Leon Bahner (209-95, college: San Jose St.) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Five Artland Dragons players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Jordan Talbert (198-91, college: Missouri So.) who recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Brandon Lockhart (185-90, college: Drury) added 17 points respectively. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Artland Dragons will meet ETB Wohnbau (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Rostock will play against SC Rist Wedel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
