And what about another game where Oliveirense (#5) beat Lusitania 83-77 on the road. Lusitania was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Oliveirense dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Lusitania's 20. They outrebounded Lusitania 48-31 including a 18-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Eric Coleman (200-85, college: N.Iowa) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. The former international point guard Jose Barbosa (178-90) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Oliveirense's coach Norberto Alves allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Cape Verdean forward Joel Almeida (195-85, college: Brockport St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Four McGlynn (188-92, college: Rhode Island) added 23 points (made all of his ten free throws !!!) in the effort for Lusitania. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Oliveirense's next round opponent will be Benfica in Lisbona and it will be for sure the game of the week. Lusitania will play on the road against Electrico FC (#9) in Ponte de Sor and hope to win that game.
