Regular Season Round 2: Tavriyska Zirka - Rivne 72-85

The game between closely ranked teams ended with Tavriyska Zirka's (0-4) home loss to Rivne (2-1) 72-85 on Sunday. The guests trailed by 4 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 85-72. Rivne dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Tavriyska Zirka's 24. Rivne forced 20 Tavriyska Zirka turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Forward Viktoriya Kasatkina (187-92) scored 20 points and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Liudmyla Spyrydonova (180-84) chipped in 12 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists (perfect from the field making all six shots) during the contest. Four Rivne players scored in double figures. Rivne's coach Vyacheslav Kovaleskyy allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Power forward Anastasiya Andriyets (186-91) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and swingman Lolita Sysoyeva (172-95) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Rivne will face Chaika (#7) in Berdiansk in the next round. Tavriyska Zirka will play on the road against Dynamo-NPU in Kyiv and hope to win that game.
