Regular Season Round 3: Kyiv Basket - Interkhim 100-55

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Interkhim (4-1) on the court of Kyiv Basket on Thursday night. Visitors were rolled over by Kyiv Basket 100-55. The game was mostly controlled by Kyiv Basket. Interkhim managed to win second period 23-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Interkhim to just 7 points in fourth quarter. Kyiv Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Interkhim's 38. They outrebounded Interkhim 44-22 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Kyiv Basket looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The best player for the winners was international swingman Vita Horobets (180-96, agency: LBM Management) who scored 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Power forward Yana Rabchuk (180-0) chipped in 18 points (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). Four Kyiv Basket players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international center Kristina Karp (196-98) who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Yelyzaveta Mitina (172-98) added 14 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Kyiv Basket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Interkhim will play at home against Tavriyska Zirka and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.
