No shocking result in a game when Phoenix Galati (2-0) beat on the road Politehnica Iasi (0-2) 79-70 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Politehnica Iasi won third quarter 19-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Cameron Rundles (188-88, college: Wofford) orchestrated the victory by scoring 20 points and 7 assists. Serbian center Marko Pavlovic (210-86) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Phoenix Galati players scored in double figures. Georgian point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) replied with 18 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Jermale Jones (186-86, college: Tuskegee) added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Politehnica Iasi. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Phoenix Galati will face Pitesti (#6) at home in the next round where they are favorite.
